In Loving Memory
of Bruce Morris

I've known several people in my life time, but none like Bruce Morris. Bruce was a very wise man when it came to helping others, giving great advice using his wise mind, something most people have a very hard time doing at times. When Bruce came into my office to visit he always ask how I was doing with all my programs, he just loved what I was tiring to do for others and with that tone he also told me many times to take it slow that I would get there.
I remember the day I met Bruce. I went to a store called Matheau's Market on 424 Main Street in Westbrook for pepsi. I noticed that the store had the lowest price around so I keep going back week after week. Most of the time Bruce was there in his stool. We would always talk and he would always make me feel so good. One day I asked about the office rental aside the store with hopes to someday open up a peer center for folks with mental illness and senior citizens and a computer Center where I could furnish individual's low-cost computers and training at reasonable prices.
In embarrassment by dreams were put on hold so I didn't return back to the store for many months. Then one day I did return to the store with my mission accomplished.
There at his stool was Bruce again. Many weeks would pass and Bruce would always stop in and see me while I was setting up my new office/store. Then I became very ill will by mental illness, I was experiencing hyper mania to the extreme and was hospitalized for two weeks. Once out of the hospital there was Bruce again coming in every day to my office and volunteering his time given me good sound advice.
Bruce was surely a caregiver giving good sound advice and showing wisdom with his words. The Bradley Foundation of Maine has set up a special fund in loving memory of Bruce Morris to help to train those with mental and physical disabilities along senior citizens who are in compliance with our mission statement. We have also set-up a discount for computers in his name alone with a grant we received from DHHS, our prices have been lowered from $200.00 to $50.00 for computers including the monitors. If you would like more information about this program or to donate please call Jerry Bradley at 591-5237.
